Out of curiosity, I opened Windows update in Control panel and clocked 'Change settings'. I then clicked 'Check for updates' and Hey Presto! I then reset it back to 'Automatic Updates' and it is working fine!!

D0xt0rz3r0 January 31, pm. I downloaded the updated drivers at the location that was mentioned in this article and got met with Microsoft Windows 7 always booting into the Startup Repair screen. Luckily I had an image of my machine and just reapplied that image, however that step is dangerous and does not apply to every machine. Also what eventually worked for me because my problem was on the image was simply running a "Disk Cleanup" mode and cleaning everything out including the system files.

Change the settings to "Never check for updates not recommended ". Windows Update might magically let you check, then you can change your settings back.
